"Why Do You Have a Home Office?"

"Why Do You Have a Home Office?"

I see patients worldwide via Zoom virtual appointments, as well as offering local in-person appointments.

Practicing from home allows me to keep costs down for my patients, and in turn, that allows access to my services for people from a wider variety of economic means.  I provide the exact same excellent care for my patients, no matter what building my office happens to be located in.  My patients appreciate the comfortable yet professional surroundings of my office which is in the front room of my home in a nice suburban tree-lined neighborhood.  It’s a designated professional office space, with a designated patient powder room just down the hall–in other words, we’re not meeting in my living room or kitchen.  In no way does having a home office affect the care that my patients receive, nor does it change the 9 years of education and the 24 years of experience that I have acquired in my profession.

If I paid exorbitant office rent a mile away, I’d have to charge twice as much for appointments to cover the expenses of an outside office.  My colleagues in this area charge 2-3 times more for similar services (but shorter appointments), in order to cover their overhead.  Instead, I’ve chosen to keep costs low for my patients, since only one space is being heated and cooled instead of two.  My “commute” (walking downstairs) is also “green”–no energy consumption necessary.  My patients understand that many people of all professions have home offices these days, and they appreciate its practicality and affordability.

I look forward to welcoming you into my comfortable professional home office (or seeing you by Zoom) soon!
